q2:I attended Malindi Cultural festival this Easter weekend which was hosted by the National Museums of Kenya. It attracted both local and international tourists. Apart from being a tourist attraction, the home grown initiative is an important tool for national cohesion because unlike other festivals, there was showcases of other cultures like that of the Luo, Pokomo, Kamba, Waata, Taita, Mijikenda and Orma who also live in the town. This really encouraged people in the area especially after the 2007/08 post election violence and helps heal the wounds.

q2: In December 2007 and early 2008 when tribal clashes rocked Kenya following the post Election Violence, there rose tension in my estate in BUSIA, as the state of insecurity rose.No one dared move out the house. Everyone was wacthing the events from the television. In my estate a concern rose among the village elders, sbchief and the chief on how to mantain peace, harmony among the Kikuyu, Luhya, Luo and other tribals and this was just the correct thing to do at the time. The tension cooled down and the strange feeling of hatred and discrimination was not that much as all the people embraced and regarded one another as a brother and sister. From that step there still prevails the love, peace and harmony in the estate irrespective of their tribes.

q2:One of the causes of the 2007 post election violence was as a result of corruption that was rampant in Electoral Commission of Kenya and the very many errors they made as an electoral body of Kenya. There were so many electoral cases that saw the cancellation of many MPs as members of parliament in various constituencies including mine in Ikolomani. After the violence the electoral body was cancelled and an Interim independent Electoral Commission of Kenya was established to carry out voting process in the nation especially by-elections. From the many by-elections conducted by elections. From the many by-elections conducted by the body, many can testify that the elections have been fair and the voting process efficient especially during the referendum when electoral machines were first used in the process of voting in Kenya. Rigging cases are not heard off but the problem is yet to come. Will the government allow this body to carry on the 2012 general elections despite the fact that up to now it has been effecienct and has performed satisfactory.

q2:After the signing of the peace accord during the post election violence between the Mwai Kibaki and Raila Amollo Odinga , a problem still loomed of who was leader of government business, between the vice president belonging to the party of National Unity side and the prime minister belonging the Orange Democratic Movement side. The issue brought tension in the entire nation and strife and division among parliamentarians and something had to be done to solve the looming problem that paused a threat to peace and unity of the nation again. In parliament the issue was put to debate the MP's from both side contributed in support of the sides. However the speaker well known as a new "solomon" Kenneth Marende couldn't make a ruling on the matter and so postponed his ruling to the following week. The following week and everyone was eager to hear what the speaker would rule. But the ruling was so shocking, unbelieving and extremely wise that no one had thought off. The speaker ruled that he would take over as the leader of Government business until the two principles decide on whoever should be.
