q2:Medication is very essential and should be a right to each and every one. In Mathare it is unfortunate that there are no speayied government hospitals. The residents are forced to go to the private owned clinics which charge very expensively and therefore is always a burden to an average resident of Mathare slums. It is for the lack of hospitals that most people especially children perish just from simple ilnesses can otherwise be cured. There are NGOs that are trying to curb the medication problem by providing health/medical services in partnership with churches around. The NGOs walk through schools and home but more still need to be done.

q2:Many government hospitals have neglected the health sector and left the sick to fend to themselves. Most public hospitals face a chronic shortage of cheap drugs, which drives desparate patients to seek the services of backstreet Chemists and clinics that do booming business despite being run by quacks without a background in medical training. One need to look futher than the ubiquitous signs advertising the services of traditional healers, who claim to have the remedy for all know ill and ailments.
