q2:Corruption has always been a great vice in the community. Although the government tries so hard to stop/ end corruption, in mathare, it has gone to the extreeme end. Anything and everything productive is done through corruption. Whrn there happens to be a job opportunity anywhere, it has to be paid for and this realy pushes an average mathare resident to the wall. More people engage in corrupt deals to offer job opportunities which are not realy permanent employment. To get a Job connection, one pays anything above ksh. 500 and sometimes this may not even be available. Corruption is also evident when government programmes are to be implemented. Some people connect with politicians and get more than others.
