q2:Zahra Batool a 45 year working woman is living in Shaheed colony Skardu city. Her education is B.A, B Ed. Her husband is jobless. She has two sons and a daughter. She got married with Mr. Hadi, her first cousin, in the year of sixteen. At that time her husband was the student of BA (Bachelor of Arts). He did not have his own house because his father had left in Kargil (India) and mother in Skardu at the time of India and Pakistan war. So he never had seen his father. He had grown up in guardianship of his uncle. After wedding they lived in a rented house for some months and shifted to Quetta when getting a job. He was doing job in “Survey of Pakistan”. They had been living happily there for two years. When they had a baby boy they returned back to Skardu. Her husband never went back to Quetta again, started to live in a rented house without job. To overcome the problems of life Zahra Batool joined the Radio Pakistan as a speaker, and earned some money from there. She had two sons now and to manage their milk she mixed water in the milk and feed them due to poverty. Thus due to deficiency of food her kids became weak. Whenever kids became sick both husband and wife worried for their medicines. At that time situation became hand to mouth. Her husband did not have any property and resources that would be utilize. He focused to searching a job more efficiently. Zahra Batool started tuitions at her home to children of neighbors after doing intermediate privately. They had seen many problems and difficulties in their poverty. Their kids were under nutrition. They could not give them proper diet. At last Mr. Hadi got a good job in an NGO. After a long time they took sigh of relief. And they were spending their lives happily and flourishing. This time was their rising time. Zahra Batool was doing graduation (private) while she was getting a job of translator in Aga Khan Rural Support Program (AKRSP). They had purchased a plot in Skardu city and constructed a building there. When she completed her period of translation AKRSP offered a job in women program. Zahra Batool happily joined the AKRSP as a women social organizer by the permission of her husband. And desperately busy with her work of formation of women organizations, conducting meetings, convincing them for collection of savings, and played a role in creation of small businesses. She did well her every given official assignment. Besides these she kept continue radio job where she did local language program (Balti Program) in evening time. At that time she also got another education degree that was B.Ed. (Bachelor in Education). At the peak time of their flourishing Mr. Hadi get outside from the job as a result of downsizing of the NGO. He deposited his CPF rupees and other savings in a new Bank that had offered high profits. After one year, suddenly Bank owners closed the bank and ran away from the country, and savings did not return back to account holders. This was shocking news for the whole society, especially for this family. Mr. Hadi did not have a job yet now. Zahra Batool faced burden in these situation because her two sons and a daughter were going to school and husband was jobless and no savings. Their kids were taking education from good institutions where charges were high. She tried to fulfill all expenses in her salary. She tried to do something extra other than her full time and part time job; she assembled her home resources with her own efforts. That was her kitchen garden and some apple trees that were planted in backyard of house. She and her husband marketed those apples every year in season and earned reasonable amounts. While kitchen garden used for household. After many years situation was same, her husband was not willing to do a job. Zahra Batool only the earning person of the family. She lonely managed AKRSP job, radio job and home affairs. Elder son is in final year of engineering, daughter is in intermediate level. While unfortunately her little son stopped education in the household scenario. He had taken only intermediate education. Zahra Batool strongly wanted to him that he continuous his education but he refused and started to learn a skill as a pupil. Zahra Batool saw many difficulties in life. But she didn’t stop her education. She couldn’t go to school/college regularly with kids therefore she got degrees as a private candidate. She showed her strength in poverty, dedication in household affairs. She did not compromise on children education. Over all she played a strong role. Zahra Batool said “after weddings of children we will go to perform Hajj”.

q2:A friend of mine had no job in Kenya yet she was married and with two kids a boy and a girl. The husband was not providing for the family and so it was the duty of the woman to feed for her children and even ensure that the children got education. After election, now that she was a Kikuyu living in Kakamega, her house was broken into and everything rooted. They went to Kabete Nairobi where her husband came from but then hat to come back and stay with her mother in Kakamega since she had no job. The husband also came back and put up in a relatives hotel and did not look for a job. The lady wanted good life for her kids so she went to Saudi Arabia to work as a househelp and educate her children support her mother as well as her husband. While at Saudi Arabia she used to send her mother her salary to support her children and husband. The husband when he got the money did not invest on any business but instead used it on prostitutes and even forgot that he had a family. The lady was then raped at Saudi Arabia and pushed away from her job. Coming back to Kenya, she was rejected by her own family members including her mother. She had no money since she was sending her salary to support her mother, children and husband who remarried.

q2:The after month was a highlight on citizen TV which was all a bout physical disability.In this highlights was a single mother who was mentally hand caped and had 3 sons and1 daughter the mother was jobless and did some small businesses so as to make the end meet.The most challenging thing was discrimination she faced from neighbours and landlord and this made everything hard for her till a certain woman took them in just for some time and now the family was all over the media seeking for help.
