q2:I live in a community where people are infected with a variety of diseased ailments such as HIV/AIDS, malaria, TB, and other water borne diseases. More than 40% of people in my community are infected with HIV. A long term illness and getting treatment for the poor villagers is so costly people cant access the antiviralvirals. Aids has created an exploitation in TB and malaria since those infected have low immunity and resistance to diseases. The deaths sickness and absenteeism at schools by teachers and doctors and other processionals at work was alarming. The demand for families funds spending on drugs is so high. Amref works with local communities and other networks to stop the HIV infections by educating people of the community on its awareness to encourage voluntary counselling and testing VCT for those who might be aty risk and those who are HIV positive. The organization has also reduced the victims with home based kits with ARVS to help the infected people stay healthy.
