q2: Turkana district was a very back- ward community. The adults did not realise the importance of education hence no emphasis was put on their children to take up lessons. Instead ther was spent on their cultural activities eg. taking care of livestock. I was exceptional and had different view of life. I had been born in Turkana and partly raised by my grandparents but my father who worked in Nairobi and lived with my mother a Kikuyu had ensured that when i had become of age, he had sent me to a boarding school. Taking my studies seriously, i had pursed a bachelor of education and had graduated. I had to declare to see development in my rural home ans was determined to make a change. However many odds were against me. I wanted to give education to the children in the village but didn't have the neccesary equipment and cash to do so. Luckily the government through the MP was able to put up classrooms and post a few more teachers and as the head teacher i was able to guide and motivate all the road to success. We now have students who have enrolled for studies and are seriously trying to brighten their future through education.
