q2:Tujiendeleze Self Help Group which started in 2007 in Kakamega Central District now has over 20 members. The Self Help Group to which I am a member, has pulled many of our families from poverty. I joined it lying low in economical terms. Being jobless I was unable to support my family very well from my small income through bodaboda (bicycle). Upon joining the group in 2009, the Group was able to support me with finance through a system called "table banking" which loans members money to upgrade themselves. I have been able to buy more bicycles from the first loan of 27,000 shillings I got in 2009 and invested heavily in the transport business of bodaboda, hiring other youths and a bicycle repair clinic in Ikonyero.

q2:My name is John Opuka, the chairman of Shivakala Youth Group which opened gates of operation in 1998. We have over 30 members fully engaged in income generating activities that for sometime now premise our hope for advancement. Through our innovation we can now do good farming in sugarcane, which is our main cash crop in Kabras, mushroom growing and bee keeping. We are excited that to this end our sacrifice in projects is paying dividends and we have positioned ourselves in development promoting the community.

q2:I am Timothy Mwishoni. I became a member of Youth Action Group in 2008. It is through this Group that i have come to discover so much in life. The youth are a vibrant asset in society especially if they direct their energies correctly to the right targets in life. Us as a Youth Group are an innovative one which to large extend have transformed our own standard of living and that of the community at large. Through trying to reduce poverty, the crime rate has dissipated as youth now are able to concentrate on positive values and direct energies on production than waste time on useless things. Among income generating activities that have greatly improved our status, is business. Through loans i have gotten from this group, i have been able to start a kiosk and transport business where i have bought a motorbike that is earning me so much.

q2:I have had a good experience for the past 3years as a member of Youth Action in Kakamega Central Districts since 2008. I had not had very healthy high hopes about life, not so optimistic since I had only expected to get an office job but which unfortunately are very scarce these days. When I joined a Youth Action Group my perception changed. We have been able to engage out energies into practice ideas arrived from our joint participation which through the support of funds from the Group have moved me a step higher in life.
