q2:MY name is Rhodah, I am 25 years of age. I have just completed my university I am back in the village. My parents sold everything to let me complete my studies. Back at home life become so difficult I thought of what to do. I a have just completed Business Studies from Moi University. I thought of an idea, I formed a group and registered with ministry of Social Services. We are about 20 members of youth. Most of our activities were playing netball every month as we meet and discuss our activities to do in the future.We thought coming together and start a joint project I went to an NGO in town and gave direction on what to do. q2: Iam a member of vision youth grouup. Iam 26 years of age. We are having a project in town and i happen to be among the Distributes of cakes in the group I had just finished school and thought of how to be busy in life despite employment that Iam waiting for.Iam able to make my self busy.We are able to come out with something to take home, since we are saving so as to start a big shop of our own on supply of Bread and cakes we are also undergoing training with wewasafo.They have linked us to Equity Bank which will help us secure a loan to facilitate our big vision of setting up a factory as a group of young men and women.

q2:I am a wife of one of the members of the youth action group by name Mr. Timothy shing’oli .My name is zipporah of shingoli. My husband has been a member of this group since 2007. Before he joined the group we as a family were for a long time acquainted with swimming in the waters of poverty with plenty of hard problems that never seemed to end By joining the youth action group ,my husband opened anenues of hope that have done an inn let of economic, social and our status. q2: Mayungu Area Self Help Group in Kakamega North is a group of over 20 members. It was started 3 years ago to try to lift the standard of living for its youthful members who include widows and othe less fortunate. This Group has projected cane planting (farming) as a tool by which they can confront and alleviate poverty among its members as they seek to liberate the community from it completely. With over 20 members both women and men they are geared towards greater levels of awareness and strength so as to empress a new dimension of overcomers that will go along way to develop many income generation projects to even provide employment oppotunities.

q2:I do remember the day when KICOSHEP came to our community advicing us to go to school and educate ourselves.They too adviced the adults or the youth to have a self help group.The explained how they started and they bigin by saying''We were just roomers of the slums. We were lazy and did not know what to do.some of us where drug abusers of drug addicts.But we were rescured by one of the sponsors he told us what to do he advices us not to use drugs while we are too young.We listened to him and we were helped by that advice.He told us to built a school and educate young one.We followed his advice and how we are successful men and women we are know here to give you some advices.We can employ some of you and we can give the others advice.People were happy for that encouragement. He also gave the children the importance of learnign and why we should learn.i had never before had someone who can encourage me on education and learning.He also said for some pupils education will be free and for the others will be sponcered.We lerned but when mu parents where living that place i transferred and joined three bells school in the year two thousand and eight.

q2: My story is about the local men,women and youths who decided to come up with an idea of small scale farming within the community.Wherefore we started a small project of our own.By planting stems of bananas.pineapples,sweet potatoes,paw paw,sorghum millet cow peas,soya beans and sukuma-wiki plus tomatoes. So far this group is out to educate the rest of members in the community on how they can unite and work together as a team to improve their living standard.This is because we have a problem of school fees for our children who are at school and those who want to pursue further learning.Also we had a need since we don't have enough meals to feed our families. In the case most of our members are happy because none of them is lacking.We are expecting great changes in a few years to come.we are looking forward to reach out to other communities and share on feelings and prod ideas.
