The unemployments rate in the slums is 70% and those who count them selves as employed are not even in permanet employment they are just laboures who stuggle to put food on the tube or caffer for their family needs the available employment opportunities offer low income solaries. Unemployment is wide spread due to the high popullation and lack of proper education when a job opportunity comes out people are too many for the opportunity hence most people go without jobs most employing instituties require some minimum loved of education most residents of mathare lack proper education hence they realy have hard time getting imployment this increases the rate of unemployment.
