q2:In the days when ignorance was bliss, a little knowledge for those who possessed it was instrumental. This is to say that once one got lucky enough to see the gate of any school, he would come back home(probably the village) and have bragging rights of the 'additional wisdom' earned at school. I remember with nostalgia how we,as small kids would skate bare bottomed down the ravines of Mbooni hills.Ever since we would occasionally meet a student or two on their exodus to and from school. It happened that these very characters, years later, became well off individuals who were the envy of many in the society. They became very influential thereafter. That is where my craving for studies took the toll.I remember how I used to cry all day long for my mother to take me to school.Unfortunately, she lacked the means-school fees for that sake- and could not give in to my pleas. She insisted that instead, I should help her with the farming.I used to pray hard for God to open that very small window opportunity. Two years down the line, two men walked into our compound each armed with documents. That scenario reminded me of how Abraham was visited by angels. These people were teachers from Jitegemee Childrens' Program whose headquartres are based in New York city. Once again my desire to learn sprouted as the sponsors did their best to make sure I was at school.Today I have a dream, a dream to fortunate with studies. That is what Jitegemee made out of me.
